Located on its perch in the heart of Sonoma Valley, this vineyard produces distinct flavors reminiscent of its location. While very close in structure and flavor, Zinfandel and Primitivo have very small differences. The smaller Primitivo berries in particular allow for increased flavor development and tannin growth. The cool nights and warm days of this valley floor vineyard allow for extended hang time for this late ripening vineyard. The Shumahi Vineyard continually produces a well-structured Primitivo with ample acidity and well-rounded dark fruit flavors.
