Maggie’s Block wraps around Maggie’s Pond, a small natural water source on the estate vineyards in the Dry Creek Valley. The warm climate of the mountainside vineyards produces Sauvignon Blanc wines rich with flavors of tropical fruits and melons. Due to the valley’s cooling coastal influence at night, the fruit flavors are balanced with crisp acidity and freshness. Cool temperatures pushed the 2020 harvest back a full week from the last year. The lower temperatures allowed for a longer hang time, which enabled the grapes to fully mature while retaining their naturally high acidity. The bountiful harvest gave us a few extra cases to enjoy.
