Striking aromas of boysenberry compote, dark plum, and mission fig establish a bar passed only by flavors of morello cherry, huckleberry, and black peppercorn. The smooth finish lingers with silky tannins and notes of black currant, pomegranate, and Saigon cinnamon. Dark fruit and incredible tannins make this the perfect pairing for grilled wagyu bavette with sautéed mushroom and asparagus or lamb meatballs with a pomegranate glaze and Tzatziki. Enjoy now or cellar through 2027 for additional development.

Established in 2002, the Rockpile AVA has set itself apart from the neighboring Dry Creek Valley AVA with its high elevation vineyards, unique climate, and shallow soils. At just under 2,000 feet, this estate vineyard is well above the fog line, resting in the hills above Lake Sonoma. The shallow soils retain little moisture, encouraging concentration of grape flavors. The high winds coming in from the Pacific cool down the sunny hillsides, creating a lower average daily temperature compared to the neighboring AVAs.
