Nestled in the hills of the Northeastern end of the Russian River Valley, the Tripi Vineyard has spectacular growing conditions. The warm days and rocky clay soil grow Zinfandel with distinctively rich and intense flavors while the cool nights and foggy mornings preserve a balanced acidity and ensure a low Brix at harvest. Rocky clay soils remain generally cool and dense, as dense soil slows vine growth, which in turn increases grape concentration. The rocky clay also prevents drainage, which helps to grow Zinfandel grapes with ample tannins and acid at a slower pace, making the Zin from this vineyard even more distinct.
